What Should I Expect?
Swing-Roc runs classes at three different venues every week. Sundays at the "Bellhouse Club " in Grappenhall, Mondays at The Village Club (former British Legion) in Culcheth and Wednesdays at "Alford Sports & Social Club, Warrington. Check out the Venues page for full details on the venues.
Swing-Roc evenings start with a beginners lesson at 7.30pm. on Sundays & Wednesdays & at 7.45pm on Mondays. Dont worry if its your first time as teachers will guide you through the beginners moves and soon have you dancing.
The beginners lesson is followed by 'freestyle' dancing time where you get to practice what youve just learnt, with teachers on hand to help. We have an Intermediate lesson a bit later at about 9pm with more 'freestyle' dancing right through until 10.30pm, often a little later.
First timers are welcome to watch or even join in the second lesson we leave this up to you but please join in with the freestyle again after the lesson. All our regular dancers are friendly and helpful too...remember weve all been beginners at some stage! Your Teachers and Demonstrators will love a dance with you and will happily go through the routine that has been taught that night or previous nights.
Even though Swing-Roc is a partner dance you dont have to bring a partner as we ensure that everyone mixes by moving people round. This means you learn quicker and get to dance with more experienced dancers as well as get to know each other.
What Should I Wear?
Please wear cool comfortable clothing, anything from casual to smart casual, and comfortable smooth soled shoes, preferably leather or suede soled. (Extremely high mules are not recommended for ladies.) Remember, dancing can be close up and personal, (if you want it to be), so arrive fresh and perhaps bring a change of tops to keep that way!
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost for the whole evening is just £5.00! (Look out for special offers though)
